How American Honors Selects Students

We take a holistic admissions approach to identify high-potential students. This means we weigh both the competitive and compelling traits and consider academic, character, and situational attributes to determine if a student would be a good fit for the program.

Academics

Elizabeth F.

When application season rolled around, my advisors sat down with me one-on-one to brainstorm and revise essays. And all our hard work paid off! I was accepted to Stanford University with financial aid!

  • Students demonstrate high academic potential and the ability to engage in course material at a deeper level.
  • GPA higher than 3.0 or 90th percentile on the GED (in most cases)

    • International students: English and ESL pathway programs are available at select locations
  • Took general education classes (Algebra II or higher)
  • Current community college students must have at least one-year of credits remaining to complete their associates degree
