Founding Director, American Honors at 
Ivy Tech Community College

M. Beth Borst currently serves as Dean of the Ivy Tech Honors College and Executive Director of the American Honors Program at Ivy Tech Community College.  At Ivy Tech, she has developed a strong reputation as a “results-oriented leader” with a “caring relationship style” that engages and motivates others.  Ms. Borst previously served as founding Director of the Ivy Tech Community College Honors Program and, along with her team that launched the program, received national leadership recognition at the 2012 Chair Academy.  

A leader committed to student engagement and learning, Ms. Borst holds the rank of Associate Professor where she has delivered courses in student leadership, transfer success, critical thinking and business etiquette.  Prior to leading the honors program, Ms. Borst served as Chair of the General Studies Program for the Ivy Tech Central Indiana region which was the largest General Studies program in the state serving over 3,000 students.  Prior to joining Ivy Tech, Borst worked for a Gannett-owned newspaper in Indiana, a bi-lingual newspaper in Washington, D.C., and the Indiana State Senate.

Ms. Borst is currently pursuing a doctorate at Ball State University. She holds a master’s degree in Adult and Community Education from Ball State University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University.
