With 20 years of experience in higher education, first in the classroom, and then in administrative leadership roles of increasing responsibility, Dr. Bernard Polnariev is Union County College’s Dean of Curriculum, Accreditation, & American Honors. In this role, he partners with faculty members to oversee curriculum, revise and develop new programs, support program accreditation, and also coordinate articulations with other institutions to help further student success. He also works closely with the American Honors team to ensure that these cohorted students receive a superior academic experience – with an enhanced teaching and advisement approach; we’re also deepening the program’s connections to the Top 100 U.S. Colleges & Universities. Proudly, graduates of Union’s American Honors program have transferred to schools such as Columbia, Cornell, Drexel, George Washington, Rutgers, and UCLA for example. Our American Honors program was praised in 2017 by the visiting team from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.
