Benjamin Moritz has been involved with honors education as a student, a faculty member and as an administrator. He is an enthusiastic advocate of both honors education in general, and the National Collegiate Honors Council in particular.

He believes that one of the most important roles for honors education is to address the needs of first-generation, low-income and other under-represented groups of academically gifted students.

After directing the honors program at Mansfield University for four years and serving on the board of the Northeast Regional Honors Council, he served as honors director at Metropolitan State University of Denver for two and a half years.

Benjamin holds a Master of Music degree from Indiana University Bloomington and a Doctorate of Music from Northwestern University.
