Mission
Community College of Philadelphia is an open-admission, associate-degree-granting institution which provides access to higher education for all who may benefit. Its programs of study in the liberal arts and sciences, career technologies, and basic academic skills provide a coherent foundation for college transfer, employment and lifelong learning. The College serves Philadelphia by preparing its students to be informed and concerned citizens, active participants in the cultural life of the city, and enabled to meet the changing needs of business, industry and the professions. To help address broad economic, cultural and political concerns in the city and beyond, the College draws together students from a wide range of ages and backgrounds and seeks to provide the programs and support they need to achieve their goals.

Located directly in Philadelphia, Community College of Philadelphia is situated in one of the most vibrant urban centers on the East Coast, where the city is an extension of campus. Philadelphia is a newly designated World Heritage city and listed as a Lonely Planet Best Place to Visit in 2016. Home to world-renowned research institutions like University of Pennsylvania, Temple University, Drexel University and renowned cultural centers, Philadelphia will become your interactive classroom. Explore the birthplace of American democracy, visit the Liberty Bell, Philadelphia Art Museum, and Fairmount Park. Even take a day or weekend trip to New York City or Washington, DC, which are both less than 2 hours away by train. International students attending the College live in a nearby off-campus residence hall or in nearby apartments.

The Honors Transfer Network of four-year colleges and universities extends from coast to coast, including institutions such as MIT, American University, Brandeis University, and Georgetown University. For students enrolled in the American Success program, they can leverage Community College of Philadelphia’s transfer agreements with schools such as Temple University and Arcadia University. Honors program graduates have been accepted at Stanford University, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and many other top-tier schools.
Student Clubs & Organizations
