Yutian started at Pierce College...

He tried to be outgoing and make more friends with local students. While he was nervous at first, he quickly found himself getting used to life in America.

 
...then transferred to University of Rochester.

Now, at University of Rochester, Yutian has already joined two clubs and made a lot of new friends. He wants to continue his education through graduate school and major in Environmental Studies.

“The American Honors program definitely helped me improve my listening, speaking and writing skills. In the program, I was able to interact with so many other types of international students. My roommate at Rochester is Egyptian American and if I had no prior experience with communicating with other foreign students in the past it would have been hard for me to talk to him confidently.”
