Hanna started at Community Colleges of Spokane...

Hanna learned a lot about American culture and traditions from her host family. She also learned how to speak up and ask more questions in her classes, while making friends with other international students in the program.

 
...then transferred to Gonzaga University.

Now, she credits her experience with American Honors at CCS for helping her feel more comfortable in her classes at Gonzaga.

“Here, I’m asked to give my opinions a lot. I was used to being given information. When the teacher would ask, “What do you think?,” I would just hope he didn’t call on me. But I got better and better. By the end, I had to deliver a group project. My classmates told me that I had gotten a lot better at public speaking -- that I had gotten more confident.”
