As the oldest community college in New Jersey, Union has been serving both career-minded and transfer-oriented students since 1933. The College has maintained its commitment to scholarship by providing a solid liberal arts foundation while, at the same time, developing new programs and courses that meet the challenges of a rapidly developing society.

Graduates of American Honors have unlimited options for where they’ll go next. Our network of four-year colleges and universities extends from coast to coast, ranging from titans such as Rutgers University and Duke University to small liberal arts colleges, including Amherst and Swarthmore. In addition to the American Honors co-curricular and professional development activities, Union County College offers a wide variety of student groups to choose.
Whether you’re interested in student government, the International Cultural Exchange, drama and theater, or athletics, you’ll find lots of ways to have fun and socialize with new friends.
Starting your college career close to home doesn’t mean that living at home is your only option. At Union County College, domestic applicants have housing options close to campus.
Apartment. There are many apartment options near campus. Students arrange for apartment housing independently.
Academic Pathways & Courses
The following presents an example of the coursework you might take as you pursue an Associate’s Degree through American Honors. Most American Honors programs require that 40% of your credits come from Honors courses.
Individual student curricula will vary based on their intended degree path. For example, if you are interested in the health sciences you would take Biology courses instead of Physics courses to satisfy your science requirements.
