A Bit About Klara
Klara joined the American Honors team after graduating with a BA in Political Science from Yale University. She began her academic career at the Honors College at Miami Dade College, where she developed her passion for education, mentoring and service. While at Miami Dade, she was an active member of Phi Theta Kappa, a math-peer tutor, and a coordinator of the college-wide Model United Nations team.
After transferring, Klara coordinated a mentorship program and was an AmeriCorps volunteer working as a mentor and tutor at Wexler-Grant Elementary School. Her passion for service has also led her to partake in international service trips to Nicaragua and Ukraine, focusing on development and community-building projects.
Klara has also lived, studied, and worked abroad in France and Switzerland, where she interned for the United Nations High Commissioner for refugees.
Klara’s journey from community college and beyond fuels her desire to expand American Honor students’ horizons, believing that opportunity and collaboration bring forth academic, professional, and personal success.
