Illinois Institute of Technology
With five campuses in the Chicago area, the Illinois Institute for Technology is a private, university offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in engineering, science, architecture, business, design, human sciences, applied technology, and law. At IIT, more than 97 percent of students receive some type of financial aid, whether it be need-based, merit-based, or both. In addition, IIT offers co-operative education (Co-Ops): Typically, students will spend one semester working “on the job” at a company and the next semester taking classes on campus. Co-op arrangements are common for engineering majors, although if students have a different major they may also be able to arrange a program that fits their interests.
